  • What are the opening hours of the Support Hub (Summer Street)?

    The Support Hub (including emergency food provision, crisis support, housing support, abuse and violence, and digital inclusion) is open:

    Monday to Thursday: 9am-5pm

    Fridays: 10am-4pm 

    Food provision: Mondays 10am-3pm, Tuesdays 1pm-4pm, Wednesdays 10am-3pm, Thursdays CLOSED, Fridays 10am-3pm

  • What are the opening hours for Care at Home?

    Care at Home includes both Care Choices and RISE services. 

    They are open 365 days a year.

  • What are the opening hours for Residential Support – Wernham House?

    Wernham House is open 24/7, 365 days a year.

  • Are you accepting donations?

    Yes! We are accepting donations Monday - Friday between 10am - 3pm at our new donation point. Please click here to find out more.

  • Where can I drop off my donations?

    Donations can be dropped off at our new warehouse in Torry:
    Unit 6, Crombie Road, Aberdeen, AB11 9QQ. View on a map.

    A time slot needs to be booked to ensure we can safely accept your donation.

  • What days and times can I drop off my donations?

    Donations can be accepted on Monday - Friday between 10am - 3pm.

    You must book a time slot to drop off your donation so that we can keep everyone safe. You can book your slot here.

  • What donations do you need?

    Information on our priority items and items we can and can’t accept can be found here.

  • Do you accept second-hand items?

    We are able to accept second-hand clothing as this can be used all year round.* Underwear must be new. Items which are stained or showing signs of excessive wear and tear cannot be accepted. We are also happy to accept clothing with company logos on as long as the company are aware our service users will be wearing the branded items.

    Toiletries should be new and unopened and for any other household goods we kindly ask that you contact us first to ensure these can be accepted.

    * Please note we are currently only accepting priority clothing items such as jackets and new underwear.

  • Do you accept furniture?

    We are currently unable to accept furniture and other large appliances. If you are looking to donate these types of items, we recommend trying Instant Neighbour or the British Heart Foundation. If we ever require these items we will be sure to let you know through our website and social media channels!

  • Who can I contact for homelessness support out of hours in Aberdeen City?

    You can call the Aberdeen City Homelessness Out of Hours Helpline on 0800 917 6379. This emergency service runs from 5pm to 8.30am, Monday to Friday, and 24 hours on weekends and public holidays.

  • How do I get emergency social work help in Aberdeen City after hours?

    Call the Aberdeen City Out of Hours Social Work team on 0800 7315 520

    The Out of Hours team provides an after hours emergency service within the City of Aberdeen. A wide range of Social Work services are covered, delivering crisis assessment by a home visit or phone call. Referrals are then passed on to other social work teams and appropriate agencies. The problem will be discussed over the telephone. Whatever action is needed for the immediate situation will be taken. This may include a visit from the service’s social workers. The most urgent problems will be dealt with first. If action is needed but not immediately, or there is a need for further action, the information will be passed on to day staff.

    The full range of social work services is not available out of hours, and there is no drop-in facility.

    The service is available from:

    • Monday to Thursday: 4.30pm to midnight
    • Friday: 4pm to midnight
    • Weekends and public holidays: 8.30am to midnight

    After midnight, staff are on-call for emergencies only.

  • Who do I contact for homelessness emergencies in Aberdeenshire outside normal hours?

    Call the Aberdeenshire Homelessness Team on 03456 08 12 03

    This line is available during evenings, weekends, and public holidays if you are in an emergency and have nowhere to stay.

  • Where can I get emergency social care in Aberdeenshire during evenings or weekends?

    Call the Aberdeenshire Emergency Community Care Service on 03456 08 12 06. Available from 5pm to 9am on weekdays, and 24 hours at weekends and bank holidays

    Aberdeenshire Council’s Out of Hours Emergency Service helps anyone experiencing personal or family problems that reach a crisis at nights, weekends or bank holidays. They provide an emergency social care service in situations that can’t wait until the social work offices reopen.

    Calls are screened by experienced staff who will prioritise those referrals that are emergencies, and pass on other referrals to daytime services.

    When necessary, out of hours emergency service staff will visit you in your own home, in hospital, at a police station or at another relevant location.

    Note: The office isn’t staffed after midnight, but if your call is an emergency you will be put through to someone.

  • Is there someone I can talk to at any time of day or night?

    Yes – call Samaritans on 116 123

    If you need to talk to someone, whatever you are going through the Samaritans are available 24 hours a day.

  • Where can under-19s get support with any issue at any time?

    Childline: 0800 1111

    Childline is available to help anyone under 19 in the UK with any issue they’re going through. You can talk about anything. Whether it’s something big or small, their trained counsellors are there to support you. Childline is free, confidential and available any time, day or night.

  • Who can I contact if I’m experiencing low mood, depression or anxiety?

    Breathing Space: 0800 83 85 87

    Breathing Space is a free, confidential, phone service for anyone in Scotland experiencing low mood, depression or anxiety.

    Their phone lines are open:

    • Mon – Thurs: 6pm to 2am
    • Fri 6pm – Mon 6am (open all weekend)
